At Holden Clough Nursery’s annual Christmas open evening, the atmosphere was nothing short of magical! The air was filled with the delightful scent of pine and spices, as festive decorations adorned every corner, creating a cosy and inviting environment. Twinkling lights hung from branches, and beautiful wreaths adorned the doors, setting the perfect backdrop for an evening of holiday cheer.

As the evening unfolded, live music wafted through the air, adding a joyful soundtrack to the festivities. Musicians strummed cheerful tunes, and it was impossible not to tap your feet along with the rhythm. The sounds of laughter and conversation filled the space, making it feel like a big, friendly gathering.

One of the highlights for me was the chance to engage in live Christmas calligraphy. I set up my little station, where visitors could come and request custom gift tags for their Christmas gifts. It was heartwarming to see people light up when they received a beautifully handwritten tag, each one personalised with names and festive designs. There’s something so special about adding that personal touch to gifts, especially during the holiday season.

And let’s not forget the delicious treats! Mince pies and mulled wine were plentiful, warming everyone from the inside out. The sweet and spiced flavours of the mulled wine paired perfectly with the buttery, flaky pies, making it a true holiday indulgence. As I sipped my mulled wine, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the sense of community that events like this foster.
